Gardens Urgent Care was established in 2005 by Dr. Matthew Thomas with the goal of providing high-quality acute medical care to those who need it in a friendly, caring atmosphere with excellent customer service, fair pricing and convenience.
Clean, comfortable surroundings and warm, friendly people offer an inviting alternative to an emergency room setting. Polite and courteous staff at the front desk greets each patient and addresses his or her needs in a prompt, efficient manner. The patient’s particular issue will be addressed with empathy and attention to detail, with respect to the patient’s privacy, and ensure that the patient understands his or her unique illness or injury, including education on home care and management. Born in Rochester, New York, Dr. Thomas moved to South Florida in his youth, attending Palm Beach Gardens High School. After graduating, he attended University of Miami, graduating cum laude and receiving a Bachelors in philosophy in 1991. On a full tuition scholarship, he then attended the University of Miami’s School of Medicine, receiving his medical degree in 1995.
In 1998, he completed his residency in emergency medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, after which he practiced emergency medicine for more than seven years at St. Mary’s Medical Center in the adult and pediatric emergency departments, as well as the emergency departments of Good Samaritan Medical Center and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Since 2005, Dr. Thomas has been with Gardens Urgent Care.
Dr. Thomas is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, is certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced cardiac life support (PALS) and advanced trauma life support (ATLS).
Dr. Thomas is married to Cathleen, has two children, Dylan and Jacob, and a yellow Labrador retriever named Zoey.
